Dear :
You will soon be eligible for Medicare coverage. We have attached a short presentation on Medicare coverage called Medicare Coverage 101. This overview talks about the major differences between Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare Supplement plans along with Part D. Most of our clients do not want a Medicare Advantage plan due to the smaller limited networks that are utilized by these plans.
If you have not yet received your Medicare ID with Part A and Part B, you can log onto www.ssa.gov to sign up for Part A and Part B. When you are at the home page select the box for retirement benefits. This selection allows you to sign up for Medicare and/or Social Security benefits. Or you can contact the Social Security Administration at 1.800.772.1213 to do over the phone or schedule an appointment. You need both Part A and Part B to obtain either a Medicare Supplement or a Medicare Advantage plan. If you have worked past age 65 and are just now getting Part B, you and your employer need to complete the Employer Creditable Coverage form to avoid a penalty for Part B late enrollment.
An excellent option is the BCBS Medicare Supplement to fill in the gaps that exist with Part A and Part B. We highly recommend BCBSTX Plan F supplement and would like to be your agent to assist you in obtaining the coverage and to be there if you have questions or need assistance any time in the future. It does not cost less to apply without an agent. BCBSTX has had a good history of minimal increases over the past several years. Rate increase history is important as it could impact you since most people remain on these plans for the rest of their lives.
If you go forward with a Supplement, you would also want to apply for a Part D drug coverage and we can provide you information so you can learn how to find the best option now and during yearly open enrollment in Part D.
We have attached the application, outline of coverage (be sure to look at Plan F and the premium rates) and also a general guide from Medicare. You can apply using the attached application and return to us by scanning and emailing your application back to us or fax it to us at . No premium is due at the time of application.
Thanks for your consideration. Please call or email if you have any questions.
