Nowadays, it seems like everyone's busy all the time. Still, most companies are in the middle of the plan year, and without the pressure of an open enrollment period, this is a great time to learn about new strategies to save your company some money while making your benefits work better for your employees. Introducing Our Newest Team Members

We're very excited to introduce you to the newest members of our JME family: Evonne White and Marlene Garza.

Marlene Garza joined the JME Insurance team in April, 2016. She has been a licensed agent in the state of Texas since 1993 and is also licensed in several other states. Marlene is bilingual in Spanish and has experience selling and servicing both employer and individual coverage. She enjoys assisting clients and helping them understand the options available to them in an ever-changing market.

Evonne White began her insurance career with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas in 1993, where she was an integral part of the Retail Markets management team. She is committed to helping individuals, employers, and agents find solutions to their healthcare needs. Evonne also serves on the board of directors for various non-profit organizations, teaches Financial Empowerment classes for United Way, and serves as a mentor for The Buckner House.

In Case You Missed It...

To protect your personal information, JME has begun using a new encrypted email service for any emails that might contain HIPAA-protected information. The first time you receive an encrypted email from JME, you’ll be asked to create a password with Barracuda, our email service. It is important that if you’re sending any personal information back to us, like a health insurance application, you do so through the secure email service. If you have any questions, please let us know.

The IRS recently announced the 2017 contribution, deductible, and out-of-pocket limits for HSA-qualified plans. As it turns out, only one number changed from 2016: the contribution limit for people with single coverage under a High Deductible Health Plan increased by $50 from $3,350 to $3,400. All other limits remained the same.
